Alliance for an Accessible City

Our Mission is to be Tulsa’s leading, grass-roots advocacy group for safe, accessible, attractive sidewalks.

Our Vision is of a considerate city of safe and walkable neighborhoods; with a sustainable, street system designed for everyone equally - the physically challenged, children, pedestrians, cyclists, bus travelers, motorcyclists and people in other motorized vehicles.

Our Plan is to achieve this initially in the Pearl and Kendall-Whittier Districts, which intersect at two, important institutions: the Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges and Murdock Villa, a residential facility operated by Tulsa Housing Authority and occupied primarily by people with physical challenges.

Alliance for an Accessible City Publishes White Paper "Getting There"

The Alliance for an Accessible City has published a white paper entitled "Getting There."   The document includes statistics and data that show that Tulsa is in need of increased investment in pedestrian accessibility.  The Alliance recognizes that physical activity and sidewalk availability are strongly tied and should be considered together.
